My Top 5 Favorite Apps for Piano Students
When teaching music online, something that I use to enhance our lessons is apps. Apps are great for so many things: games that reinforce concepts we’re learning, tools for practicing, and even theory review. But apps can be used during the week too! So here’s a list of my top 5 favorite apps that I really wish every student had.
Note Rush - This app is great for reviewing notes and builds sightreading skills.
Pulse - This is a great metronome app. You can use sound, light, or both, and can even set the color of the light.
forScore - For older students, this is an amazing music storage app. All of your sheet music can be in one place, you can annotate, compose, and much, much more.
Flashnote Derby - Similar to Note Rush, this app is for note-reading practice but appeals more to younger students.
Musicnotes - Any songs you purchase on musicnotes.com will go into your library on the app. You can play them from the app, have the app play it for you, adjust the tempo, and annotate.
Do you have a favorite app that helps you practice? Tell me about it in the comments!
