It all started with a cat.

Brooke adopted Oswald (affectionately nicknamed Ozzie) from an animal shelter when he was about five years old. He had already been there for over a year without being claimed. During in-home piano lessons he is always eager to greet the students coming in, and he’s even tried to play the piano himself! Even during virtual lessons you might catch a glimpse of him. And if you hear a sudden bang! on the piano, don’t worry- that’s just Oswald demanding dinner.

Here are some more fun facts about the cat that started it all!

Full name: Oswald Cobblepot (I was named after a Batman comic book villain because my owner is a huge nerd.)

Age: around 12 years old

Personality: I love people, especially if they will give me pets or food. I’m sweet, affectionate, and talkative, but I also have a stubborn streak- if I don’t want to move, good luck! I also really like jumping up places where I supposedly don’t belong, like the table and counter. If you ask me, all surfaces are mine for the taking!

Favorite things: I love treats, catnapping in the sun, snuggling on a soft, comfy blanket, getting pets, and stealing people’s food when they're not looking. Sometimes I like to try to sneak outside too, but my owner insists that I’m an inside cat. One of my favorite activities is prowling around the house to see if any of the other pets still have food in their dishes. You snooze, you lose!

Favorite foods: I have rarely found a food I do not like. I love tortilla chips, cheese sticks, chicken, broccoli, Ranch dressing, ketchup, and even dog food! But for some reason my owner mostly gives me cat food. Boring!

Friends: I get along with other cats as long as they don’t try to take my napping spot. I tolerate dogs until they start barking at me. My best dog friend is a black Golden Doodle named Winston. Sometimes he chases me, especially when I’m trying to get on the counter.
I love people though! My favorite people are my owner and my owner’s daughter. I also really like my grandma, except for when she tries to pick me up. Really all you have to do is pet me or scratch me behind the ears and I’ll be your best friend forever!
