3 Reasons I Prefer Online Piano Lessons

People are sometimes surprised when I tell them that I prefer online lessons over in-person teaching. Besides the fact that I’m a bit of an introvert and feel more comfortable behind a computer screen, there are three main reasons why I prefer online lessons.

Convenience

It is so much more convenient! No more traveling, no more driving kids back and forth, just sit down at your computer and log in!

Opportunities for growth

There are SO many opportunities for growth for the students. From older students having to take responsibility for their lessons: showing up on time, taking notes, etc. to students preparing video performances for the studio YouTube channel, there are so many unique opportunities for growth that traditional in-person lessons just don’t provide.

Results

The results speak for themselves. With the use of technology such as online games and theory activities, thousands of pieces of music at our fingertips, and millions of videos that demonstrate techniques, songs, and rhythm, there are so many more ways for me as a teacher to engage students, therefore solidifying the information in their memory and producing better results.

What do you think? Have you noticed any other benefits to online lessons that you love? Tell us about it in the comments!
